The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) is set to conduct the Eklavya Model Residential School Selection Test (EMRSST) for the academic year 2027. This examination aims to facilitate the admission of children into Class VI at several Eklavya Model Residential Schools across Himachal Pradesh. The schools are primarily focused on benefiting Scheduled Tribe students and other vulnerable categories.
The total number of seats available for admission is 150, distributed among four institutions:
Candidates eligible to apply for the EMRSST 2027 must meet the following conditions:
Applications must be submitted online through the official HPBOSE website www.hpbose.org. The application window will be from:

The EMRSST will consist of the following sections:

The test will be conducted offline and will last for two hours, with an additional 30 minutes for differently-abled candidates.
Selection will be based on performance in the EMRSST, with separate merit lists for boys and girls within each reservation category. Counselling and document verification will follow the merit listing.
No application fee is required for this examination.

Eligible candidates can submit the application form until 12 October 2026. Applications received after the notified deadline may not be accepted.
Candidates eligible to apply for the EMRSST 2027 must meet the following conditions: Age Limit: Minimum age is 10 years (as on 31 March 2027) and the maximum age is 13 years (born between 31 March 2014 and 1 April 2017). Differently-abled children are allowed a relaxation of up to 2 years. Educational Qualifications: Candidates must be appearing or have appeared for Class V examinations from a Government, Government-aided, or recognized school. This includes students from CBSE-affiliated schools or those enrolled in Level B of NIOS through NIOS. Home-schooled children may also apply, provided they submit a self-declaration.
